West Ham did not really win the 1966 World Cup
So STOP SAYING IT, it's embarrassing (EMBARRASSING)

Pivotal players? Yes.

Were the England 11 all West Ham? No.

Time to stop it. It's desperate, almost as if we've got nothing else to celebrate as a Club.

SECOND EVER CLUB TO WIN A EUROPEAN TROPHY (after Spurs) is the one I punt out and the other one is WE'RE MOVING TO A UEFA CATEGORY FOUR STADIUM.

So take that (TAKE THAT)

Nobody ever says it and means it.

It's all said tongue in cheek, obviously.

If Tevez kept us up then I definitely think we won the World Cup.

Re: West Ham did not really win the 1966 World Cup
I disagree.

Until we win several big trophy's and the Prem title a few times we only have the world cup win in 66 to wind other Big teams fans up with, yep West Ham won it alright.

Is this for real 85 you do realise that we sing it to wind up the opposition fans

What's happening to our lot we used to be the biggest piss takers out there now we have supporters over analysing songs in the east stand and others taking songs literally

When we sing "we got payet" and "i just dont think you understand", we of course realise they understand as

1- his name is read out pre kick off
2- his name is on the programme (on the back)
3- they can see him on the pitch

Re: West Ham did not really win the 1966 World Cup
Fucking hell, don't take it so seriously, we only ever say it to wind up other teams...

...the fact that it happens to be true is an added bonus.

Alf phoned Ron and said "Ron, I'm gonna need them all if we are going to win this" Ron said " you can't have them all Alf, I will give you three, that should be enough to win it" cheers Ron, the country will be forever grateful

Man utd are known as The Red Devils, they're not really devils though.

I have my doubts about Norwich being canaries as well.

Re: West Ham did not really win the 1966 World Cup
3 goals scored by Geoff Hurst (West Ham)
1 goal scored by Martin Peters (West Ham)
2 assists by Bobby Moore (West Ham)
Team captained by Bobby Moore (West Ham)

We didn't win the World Cup but NO other club has influenced it in such a way either.

Thanks for this. Important thread. While on the topic, can you confirm whether or not Aaron Cresswell has a magic hat?

We won the World Cup. Scored the goals, captain, and even the assists were straight from Chadwell Heath.

So 1985 is at home thumbing his mushroom then?

That's what I'm getting from this thread
